Who We Are
Windwalker Humane Coalition for Professional Pet Assisted Therapy is a nonprofit organization based in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. This policy applies to windwalkerpettherapy.org and to the forms and services offered through it.
Information We Collect
We collect information you give us directly. That includes your name, email address, phone number, and organization when you submit a request for a therapy team, apply for or renew membership, submit credentialing materials, sign up for our mailing list, or contact us with a question.
When you make a donation or pay membership or credentialing fees, payment information is collected and processed by our third party payment provider. Windwalker does not store your full card number.
Like most websites, we may automatically receive limited technical information such as your browser type, device type, and the pages you visit. We may use this information to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to respond to your request, match your organization with an appropriate credentialed therapy team, process membership and credentialing, administer donations and issue receipts, send you the newsletter if you asked for it, and keep records required for the operation of the organization.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade mailing lists.
Email and the Mailing List
If you subscribe to our mailing list, we collect your email address and use it to send news, event information, and stories from our credentialed therapy teams. We do not sell, rent, or trade our mailing list.
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of this website. Once you unsubscribe we remove your address from the list. Please allow a few days for this to take effect.
We keep subscriber records for as long as you remain subscribed, and for a short period afterwards so that we can honour unsubscribe requests.
Photographs and Media
Windwalker uses photographs of therapy teams, handlers, and program participants on this website and in printed materials. We obtain a signed release for every photograph used. If you appear in a photograph on this site and would like it removed, contact us and we will remove it.
Sharing Your Information
We share information only with service providers who help us operate, such as our website host, our email and newsletter provider, and our payment processor. These providers may only use your information to perform services for Windwalker.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the safety of a person or animal.
Your Choices
You may unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time using the link in any email we send. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to any records we are required to retain.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep form submissions and membership and credentialing records for as long as needed to administer the program and meet our record keeping obligations. Records are kept only as long as they serve those purposes.
Children
Therapy teams frequently work with children through schools, libraries, and youth programs. This website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the site. Requests involving minors come to us through the organization making the request, not from the child.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to Other Sites
This website links to sites we do not control, including the University of Rhode Island enrollment page for the DJ Professional PPAT Program. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
